Why Choose Entec?

Our priorities are getting you running (I&E, gas detection, rotating equip) and keeping you safe (preventing risks & protecting safety of people & plant)…

Getting you running with…

  • I&E and gas detection project solutions, covering panel manufacturing, material supply, installation, inspection and commissioning.
  • Preventative maintenance on instrumentation, electrical and rotating equipment assets to maximise reliability and lower total cost of ownership.
  • Trouble-shooting and breakdown repair of rotating equipment.

Keeping you safe in many ways…

  • Keeping you and your people safe – from physical harm.
  • Keeping your plant safe – preventing risks such as fire, explosion or loss of containment.
  • Keeping your organisation’s reputation safe – from adverse publicity, and from breaches of legislation or regulations.

Getting You Running

Total project solutions

Entec has built a portfolio of capabilities that we believe is unique in the New Zealand market. Entec can provide a total project solution from “cradle to grave” covering I&E manufacturing, I&E material supply, installation, commissioning and service over the lifecycle of the plant.

With our long pedigree in gas detection, we are also unique in bringing this total project solution to fixed gas detection applications. Entec is an authorised distributor for leading brands under the Tyco Gas & Flame division, providing direct OEM access for technical advice, support and equipment supply and service. A gas detection system is only effective when it is effectively serviced; Entec provides this to its customers on long-term contracts.

Preventative maintenance

Entec is in the business of trouble-shooting and breakdown repair, but breakdowns are better to be avoided by implementing a preventative maintenance regime. Entec has the skilled and experienced technicians to provide long-term preventative maintenance to instrumentation, electrical and gas detection systems.

Under the mechanical services part of our business, Entec’s rotating equipment service technicians are factory-trained with our OEM suppliers such as GE Waukesha gas engines and Ariel compressors.

We tailor preventative maintenance routines for our customers. Entec carries a large inventory of genuine OEM spare parts for the equipment it supports.

Our technicians turn up to site equipped with the right parts, special tools, diagnostic equipment and training to execute the maintenance swiftly, safely and efficiently. Our goal is to get the unit back in production on time and on budget, and with zero re-work required.

Breakdown repair

Even a well-maintained system or equipment package is prone to failure on occasion. This is when the skill and experience of Entec’s technicians comes to the fore. More importantly, this is where the commitment and character that we seek in our new recruits makes the crucial difference. We are frequently complimented on the attitude and perseverance of our staff and nothing makes us more proud!

Keeping You Safe

Compliance with standards

Entec’s I&E team is well versed in the standards which govern electrical installations, particularly in hazardous area environments. Entec can assist with pre-construction design reviews, installation of electrical apparatus in explosive atmospheres (EAEA), and hazardous area electrical inspections against the standards.

Providing ongoing assurance

Entec’s I&E team can plan and implement a remedial plan for any non-compliant items, and can plan and execute a preventative maintenance and inspection regime to provide regular plant health checks in line with best practice.

One of Entec’s specialties, drawing upon its extensive experience with gas detection systems, is the execution of service routines to regularly calibrate and function-test fixed-point gas detection systems. The application of a regular testing and calibration regime is a vital part of ensuring your gas detection system is ready to act when called upon.

IANZ Accredited Calibration Laboratory

Tests and calibrations against standards

Entec’s I&E service business includes an IANZ accredited calibration laboratory, with test classes for pressure measurement, temperature measurement and electrical testing devices. When calibrations are performed under Entec’s IANZ accreditation, customers can be assured that the work has followed a prescribed procedure, using test equipment which is itself routinely tested.

Entec’s gas detection laboratory carries out all manner of service, repair and calibration on the full range of Industrial Scientific portable gas detectors. Entec is annually certified by Industrial Scientific and operates as an Authorised Service Centre. This provides customers with the peace of mind that their gas detectors are serviced using factory-trained technicians, using genuine spare parts and following the manufacturer’s own procedures.

Record-keeping and remote monitoring

Calibrations performed under Entec’s IANZ quality system are accompanied by a calibration certificate, which forms a crucial part of the end-user’s compliance documentation.

Similarly, Entec provides a calibration certificate for all portable gas detectors which are calibrated in its laboratory, providing a service history and peace of mind.

iNet ControlThe portable gas detection products manufactured by Industrial Scientific are able to be documented on Industrial Scientific’s all-encompassing iNet Control system. iNet Control tracks all of the usage parameters from each portable detector each and every time the instrument is docked into an internet-connected docking station. iNet Control users can then monitor how each instrument has been used, what gas exposures it has recorded, and what alarm events have been triggered.

And finally, to protect people working alone or in remote locations, Entec’s remote worker solution with the G7 unit from Blackline Safety provides the best protection by allowing a person’s location to be continuously monitored (via cellular network or satellite), allowing for emergency response and two-way voice or text communication in the event of a man-down, panic or other alarm event.
